The study and research focus in our department is on the theory and application of five key subjects: algebra, analysis, geometry, mathematical analysis of information, and computer science. As well as acquiring computational skills, students develop a mathematical sensibility and the ability to think logically. This enables them to describe phenomena and solve problems from a mathematical perspective. They also work to gain skills demanded in the real world, by acquiring qualifications in areas such as programming and teaching.
