Graduate School
The Graduate School of Meijo University has the following eight postgraduate programs:Any of the programs offers special assistance to students so they can concentrate on their studies. For example,a student might become a teaching assistant or a student might be completely provided with research materials,research facilities and equipment.
Postgraduate Course in Law
The Postgraduate Program in Law offers a Master's Course and a Doctoral Course. The Master's course includes the study of Constitutional Law,Administrative Law,International Law,Criminal Law,Civil Law,Commercial Law,Civil Procedure,International Private Law,Social Law,History of Legislation,Philosophy of Law,and Political science. Each field of studies involves "Special Discussion" and "Exercise classes".
The Advanced Doctoral Course includes Constitutional Law,Administrative Law,International Law,Criminal Law,Civil Law,Commercial Law,Civil Procedure,International Private Law,Social Law,History of Legislation and the "Special Study" of Politics.
Postgraduate Course in Business
The Graduate School of Business offers Master's Program and Doctoral Program. It seeks to provide its students with advanced knowledge and skills which enable them to correspond to various aspects of contemporary corporate activites. The Program offers a wide range of special study subjects related to business and accounting. After completing the two-years study,the students are expected to establish themselves as various types of specialists such as teachers,certified public accountants,management consultants,or certified public tax accountants as well as business persons with professional capabilities.
Postgraduate Course in Economics
Faculty of Economics offers two year masters program. It may take 10 new postgraduate students every year,including a few part-timers. Subjects offered in the program are of three major courses,i.e.,Theory Major,Economic Policies Major and Economic History Major.
Theory Major course consists of three branches,Modern Economic Theory Branch,Marxist Economic Theory Branch and Economic Statistics Branch.
Economic Policies Major embraces such Branches as General Theory of Economic Policies,Labour Economics,Study of Local Economies,International Economics and Environmental Policies.
Economic History Major has two branches,General Study of Economic History and Specific Studies in Economic History.
Flexibility has been introduced in the course arrangements specially for working postgraduate students. Some classes are open during daytime and others are offered at night.
Postgraduate Course in Science and Technology
The Graduate School of Science & Technology offers programs for the Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) and for the Doctor of Engineering (Dr. Eng.).

Postgraduate Course in Agriculture
For Postgraduate program of Agriculture,a Master's Course and an Advanced Doctral Course of Agriculture are provided. For Master's Course,there are such special study subjects as Crop Science,Horticultural Science,Landscape Architecture,Theory of Genetics and Breeding Science,Plant Resources,Economic Insects,Plant Pathology,Animal Ecology,Soil Science,Plant Nutrition,Microbial Genetics and Biochemistry,Biological Chemistry,Molecular Biology,Nutritional Chemistry,Food Hygiene,Food Chemistry and Technology,Bio-Organic Chemistry,Bio-physical Chemistry,Pesticide Science,Farm Management,Agricultural Economics,Science of Food Preservation,Molecular Plant Physiology,Plant Environmental Physiology,Gene manipulation and Engineering,with each subject having "Special Training" and "Specail Experiment Class".
Research and course programs for Advanced Doctral Course are provided based on special study subject for the Master's Course. Qualified application from a variety of them is engaged in a higher education and laboratory research here.
Postgraduate Course in Pharmacy
There are two Majors in Master's course. The one is The Clinical Pharmacy and Research which consists of them divisions,namely,Clinical Pharmaceutics,Pharmaceutical Informatics,Microbiology. Drug Machinery,Clinical Biochemistry,Pathobiochemistry,Chemical Pharmacology,Clinical Pharmacy,Biological Function and Analysis and Clinical Pharmacology. The other is The Pharmaceutical Sciences which consists of eleven-divisions,that is,Instrumental Analytical Chemistry,Hygienic Chemistry,Industrial Pharmacy,Medicinal Chemistry,Medicinal Resources Chemistry,Biochemistry,Natural Products Chemistry,Synthetic Organic Chemistry Organic Manufacturing,Pharmacognosy and Physical Pharmacy. Both The Clinical Pharmacy and Research and The Pharmaceutical Sciences accept thirty students in a class,respectively.
For further advanced studies on the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The School provides the program for The Doctoral Course of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Through these highest levels of education and research experiences,a specialist in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmaceutical practice including health-care activities as well as an educator in those particular fields are enthusiastically fostered.
Postgraduate Course in Urban Science
The Postgraduate Course in Urban Science offers a Master's Course and Doctoral Course covering four fields of study,which includes Comprehensive Urban Policies,Urban Society and Information Technology,Urban Infrastructure Planning,and Urban Environmental Management. The postgraduate course has a mission to establish Urban Science as a new comprehensive field of study which approaches to urban management and environmental issues with employing computer technology in interdisciplinary manner.
Graduate School of Environmental and Human Sciences
Speciality of Environmental and Human Sciences
The purpose of this school is to develop a new field of interdisciplinary study,integrating various fields of study between natural and human sciences under the central theme "Symbiosis of Nature and Man."
Students choose one of the following four programs of study:
- 1)Chemo-Environmental Sciences
- 2)Bio-Environmental Sciences
- 3)Human and Social Sciences
- 4)Life Sciences
The school offers spring and autumn admissions,and welcomes foreign students,returnee students (kikokusijo),as well as mid-career professionals (shakaijin),to sit for the related examination.
