英語コミュニケーション
My English communication classes create opportunities for collaborative learning through task-based activities and role plays. Technology-enhanced instruction and self-study help to facilitate a student-centered learning environment where language skills are developed and strengthened so that they can be used in realistic ways and to achieve communication goals that are of immediate relevance to students. Emphasis is placed on acquiring and strengthening productive communication skills.

研究紹介
EFL Writing Fluency; EFL Oral Fluency
One recent project partially replicates a study on topic selection and its impact on second language learners’ written fluency. At the same time, it seeks to understand student perceptions of quick-write activities and topic selection. The study indicated that students seem to write more fluently on self-selected topics, but that they prefer to write on teacher-selected topics. Student reactions to the quick-write activities were generally positive, with students indicating that the activities helped them to improve their writing. My most recent project critically reviews recent literature in second language oral fluency measurement and identifies a gap in the research for a future study.

Language gives us the power to achieve a greater understanding of each other, and of our thoughts and feelings. It helps us to understand problems in our local communities and in greater world affairs. The better we are able to understand and think about these problems, the more we can communicate with others, achieve mutual understanding, and work to make the world a better place.
Those who have the opportunity to receive an education also have a responsibility to make the most of it, improve themselves, and work to help others. We are fortunate to live in such a wonderful country with many opportunities, but we must not let the concerns of everyday life make us forget those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Each day, make time to study, work, and play, but most importantly, make time to help others.
