The seminar, titled “Utilization and Development of Environmentally Friendly Construction Materials,” included presentations on environmentally friendly concrete technologies in Japan and Korea. Discussions focused on using concrete waste (a major industrial waste), ground granulated blast-furnace slag and fly ash (industrial byproducts), and plastics waste as resources in environmentally friendly concrete, with emphasis on CO2 emission reduction and concrete performance evaluation. Seminar participants included 3 professors (CNU: Prof. G. Kim and Prof. Jeongsoo Nam; and Meijo University: Prof. Y. Dosho) and 17 graduate students (2 from Meijo University and 15 from CNU^※6), totaling 21 attendees. Six individuals delivered presentations: Prof. Y. Dosho and graduate students Ms. W. Iwano and Mr. K. Onoyama from Meijo University, and Dr. Eu Hamin and graduate students Mr. Ji Sungjun and Ms. Youn Hyeyoung from CNU. The seminar confirmed that waste resource circulation and carbon neutrality are recognized as critical challenges indispensable for sustainable development in Japan and Korea.
